The Plaintiffs in the Le v Zuffa (UFC monopsony) antitrust lawsuit forwarded me this list of fighters that belong to the class period who they are still seeking contact information. Class members include any fighter that fought in the UFC between the dates of December 16, 2010 until June 30, 2017. The list included 427 former and current UFC fighters, more than 1/3 of the class members.
The Plaintiffs (Cung Le, Jon Fitch, Nate Quarry, Javier Vazquez, Kyle Kingsbury and Brandon Vera) are asking that the list be shared with public and with any fighter on the list, so they can register their contact information with the claimant administrator and collect their share of the $375 million settlement.
Fighters should go to UFCclassaction.com where they’ll find a button titled “claim your money.” That will give them access to a page where they can give the Plaintiffs’ team their names, contact info and mark as to whether they belong to the Le v Zuffa class and/or the Johnson v Zuffa class. Once they have confirmed the contact info they can forward the fighter’s claim, which has to be signed and sent back before the fighter can collect his portion of the settlement..
Nate Quarry, one of the original named plaintiffs in the case, included a message to remind fighters to not delay, ”Once the door is closed anyone that didn’t sign up is going to miss out on potentially a pretty big paycheck.”
A reminder that I personally witnessed the UFC’s own attorney’s explicitly telling the court that the company wants fighters to file their claim and get their share of the settlement.
Also note, that some deceased fighters might be included, which means the Plaintiffs are looking for contact info from their heirs.
(The list has been updated. The list of fighters the Plaintiffs need to verify their contact info for is now down to 260 or approximately 23% of the class.)
