List of fighters whose contact information is still needed
An updated list of the remaining fighters who have not yet confirmed their contact information for the Le v Zuffa class action settlement.
Earlier today the Plaintiffs sent us an updated list of those fighters that have yet to confirm their contact information for the $375 million Le v Zuffa class action settlement. This case had taken over a decade since the complaint was filed to get this point, and was brought by named Plaintiffs Cung Le, Jon Fitch, Nate Quarry, Brandon Vera, Kyle Kingsbury, and Javier Vazquez. While contact information has been provided by the UFC the Plaintiffs need it confirmed and verified by the fighters so that they can be sure it is the correct address for which they will be sent their claim from. Judge has not officially approved the settlement yet by issuing a written order, but that is expected shortly. As soon that happens the timeline is as follows:
The Settlement Claims Administrator will commence sending Claim Forms to Class Members no later than 60 days after Judge Boulware gives his Order.
After that 60 day period Class Members will have another 45 days to submit their executed (signed) Claim Forms to the Settlement Claims Administrator. If fighters do not submit their Claim Form in before this deadline they will lose out on their claim and the money will be dispersed amongst the Class Members that had submitted their Claim Form
Within 75 days after the executed Claim Forms have been submitted, Co-Lead Class Counsel shall provide a report to the Court on the status of the claims administration (dividing up the Settlement on a pro rata basis between those fighters that had submitted their Claim Forms), with the goal of allocating funds to Class Members no later than September 30, 2025.
A fighter is a Le Class Member if they fought in the UFC anytime between December 16, 2010 and June 30, 2017. A second Class Action, Johnson v Zuffa, is still in the early stages and covers those that have fought in the UFC after July 1, 2017.
How many fighters that are members of the Le Class still have to verify? At the hearing on February 6, the Plaintiffs said that 635 of the 1115 fighters had verified their contact information leaving 44% left to do so. As of last week when they issued their first list of fighters the humber of unverified fighters had shrunk to 427 or 38% of the class. And earlier today the Plaintiffs emailed me another updated list that contained only 191 fighters’ names or just 17% of the class members. (The current list is embedded below.)
Fighters who find their name on the list are recommended to go UFCclassaction.com to submit your information. You will tap the Claim Your Money button which will bring up a form that will ask fighters:
